The Basement Catacomb Studio
Our studio is in my basement. My wife and I moved her father in with us when he was diagnosed with progressive supra-neural palsy, a Parkinson’s-like disease which finally took him about a year ago. As the years progressed we made final arrangements and he asked if I would build his coffin (I’m a carpenter among other things). Not knowing when he would die, I built it and stored it in the basement family room. It creeped some people out, and my kid’s friends thought it was weirdly cool, but it was just part of our house. Bill showed up to record a program one Monday night and there was a coffin in the family room by the office/studio and we christened the office “The Basement Catacomb Studio” from henceforth and forevermore. pithlessthoughts.blogspot.com/2006/05/odd-couple.html pithlessthoughts.blogspot.com/2006/06/grandpa-fell-alseep.html
